Recently, Kawah Dinosaur Factory, a professional animatronic insects manufacturer in Zigong, China, is producing a customized batch of simulated animatronic insect models for a European client.
The project includes a 15-meter-long, 6-meter-high giant wasp, an 8-meter-long mantis, as well as animatronic ants, snails, and other insect models. These products are mainly used for theme exhibitions and display projects.
· Giant Wasp Model Overview
The giant wasp in this project is a fully customized animatronic insect with realistic movements and sound effects, including:
· Head rotation (left and right)
· Mouth opening and closing
· Wing flapping movement
· Built-in sound system simulating insect sounds
For large customized animatronic insects, the Kawah Dinosaur factory provides complete disassembly and installation videos. If required, our engineers can also be sent to the site for installation and adjustment, helping ensure smooth project execution.
· Animatronic Insects Production Process
As a China-based custom animatronic factory, we follow real insect structure and proportions throughout production, completing each step according to project requirements:
· Design Drawings
Customized drawings are created based on insect type, body size, and number of movements.
· Mechanical Frame
Steel frames are made according to the drawings, with motors installed, followed by aging tests and motion adjustments.
· Body Shaping
Sponges of different densities are used to form the body shape and details. Hard foam is used for fine details, while soft foam is used for moving joints.
· Texture Carving
Skin textures are carved by hand to enhance realism.
· Silicone Coating & Painting
Three layers of neutral silicone are applied for surface protection, followed by painting with standard-grade pigments.
· Factory Testing
Each finished animatronic insect undergoes more than 48 hours of aging tests to ensure stable structure and reliable movement.
· Customization & Project Coordination
As a Zigong animatronic factory, we offer full customization, including size, color, posture, and number of movements. During production, progress photos and videos are regularly shared with the client for review and feedback, allowing timely adjustments when needed.
